Carbon Dioxide Fire Extinguishers are ideally suited for Type E fires as Carbon Dioxide does not conduct electricity, but it will be of some assistance for other type of fires as well.
As a gas, it will not leave a messy residue over your equipment, which can be helpful for salvage if the fire has not totally destroyed your electrical / electronic equipment.
Unlike some other gaseous fire extinguishers, Carbon Dioxide will not harm the ozone. As a gas, it will dissipate into the atmosphere, so direct the stream to the base of the fire from as close as you can get.
