Silverback offers two kinds of plastic strapping materials – polypropylene and polyester.
Polypropylene is an economical plastic strapping that offers lower cost and easy handling. It is
safe and easy to use and dispose of. The tensile strength (the number of kilograms of force it will withstand before breaking) is lower than metal.
Polyester (PET) strapping most closely resembles steel strapping in its physical characteristics. Polyester strapping withstands higher tensioning than other plastic strapping (up to 25% higher), with equivalent break strengths.
